Easy Gluten Free Recipes
Gluten is a protein found in several types of grains, wheat, barley and rye for example. You may think that living a gluten free diet means a life of no pasta, pizza, bread or pancakes.
Here are 2 basic recipes that are gluten free and perfect for everyone.
Gluten Free Pasta
- 250 Grams of Rice flour
- 2 Egg yolks
- 4 Whole eggs
- 4 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
- 4 Tablespoon of Water
- 50 Grams of Psyllium husk
- Pinch of salt
Mixed all ingredients together, adding extra rice flour if the dough is too wet or water if the dough is too dry and crumbles.
Form the dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap and let rest. Roll through a pasta maker carefully as the dough is not as pliable as regular pasta dough. The fresh gluten free pasta sheet is perfect to be cut as fettuccine and can be stored in refrigerator as long as 5 days.
When dinner time comes, take the fresh pasta out and cook in simmering salted water for 4 minutes. Toss the pasta in your favorite tomato sauce and voila! Dinner is served!
- Starting Batter
- 2 Part of rice
- 1 Part of yellow split peas
- Water to cover
Rinse the rice and lentils with clean water until most of the starch is washed out. Place the rinsed rice and lentils in a clean container and fill with water until it covers the top of the rice mixture. Let the rice mixture soak at room temperature for 24 hours. After 24 hours, blend the whole mixture in a blender until a loose batter.
Pancake Batter
- 300 Milliliters of Starting Batter
- 1 Teaspoon of Baking powder
Preheat your pan, add butter and pour the pancake batter to the pan. On medium heat, flips over the pancake once bubble forms and the bottom part has turned golden brown.
When both sides of the pancake are cooked, remove from pan and add your favorite sweet or savory topping.
